Discipline

Every kind of philosophy invites one to free themselves from desire, from want
To be free in a place of non-want
what is not addressed is need
A woman may master her wants
Master her mind
But the demons of need
still rise
After exorcism
after holy water
deep six desire is death
You speak to your mistakes
to your truths
and you reduce the madness
that giddy run after your impulse
slows to a march towards what you want
you tell yourself, there are priorities
Life becomes the arid of career and professional
and people use your title
But there inside you
like a vein of mineral deep inside the mountain
that wild child dances still
like this deep twist of  character
Your need is the death knell
All it takes is this small possibility
and like erosion
the cracks will reopen
Hoping this time
your light will shine in the dark places
My supine need
dives deeper than my deepest thoughts
like some fabled beast
you come to me
and all the sense I made of my shards dissolves
I am gloriously broken again
and I want you to see
You are the spectre that stalks here inside
you take this big mind
your touch reduces it to so much animal sensation
The careful planning
the discipline
all disappear in an instant
and this wild hearted girl child
wants your beast to come out and play

Epicery

Caramel snaps between my teeth
dissolves on my tongue like gossamer
This skin?
That you are wrapped in
Will it melt into sweetness
deep addictive golden
If I skimmed it with my fingers
Would it feel hot?
Would it come apart on my fingertips
like cotton candy on a hot summers day.
This deep skin
would it grow sticky with condensation
if I held it close to my skin?
Messy and strangely satisfying
Like the lush of a handmade candy
that curve of your mouth is obscene in its shapely invitation
I want to leave
My red lipstick right there
there
in the fulcrum
of that bowed upper lip
My mark there
and
maybe
even here
I never can decide which chocolate to eat first
and this unwrapping
would confound me
In the curve of the neck
running with rivulets of sweet
I ache to taste
Lick it up in long sure strokes
I wonder if the salt caramel skin
lives beneath those careful shirts
Sugar burnt fingertips sting
but my private tastes
extend far beyond the mundane
I am a gastronome
And this degustation
is laced with sharp sensations
a vein of honeyed golden poison
so now to my mercy
inside these box days
the chocolaterie in my mind
turns to caramel
My thoughts turn to feasts
and I ache to unwrap

Driving in a car with you (in the style of having a coke with you)

It's early morning.
On any day.
Wispy clouds in calico sky and we?
On a journey.
And I sit but a few centimeters away legs tucked up.
Any highway, and all I see. Sure hands on the wheel, watching the smooth muscles of your forearms slide under your skin.
Virtuoso hands nocturne.
And we talk above the sounds of old rock you play for me.
Your words ebb and flow.
Sometimes I am listening for that special curve your lips make around words you relish as they leave your mouth.
Other times I just sit with you and you let me be.
It would seem to others so tedious a thing, to drive but there you are in your white shirt, beautiful and in this space just for me.
And suddenly I there is no place I would rather be.
No grand place you could show me, no art, no music, no words of poetry.
Nothing just driving in a car with you.
You.

Kisses

Kiss me now Lover mine.
With that certain mastery you have.
For I have grown weary of the incessant clicking  of my perpetual motion mind.
Kiss me, muffle the sounds of my own voice.
Entwine with yours these ever roaming fingers.
Draw me closer still.
Make my pulse quicken and slow the world down.
Kiss me now My Only,
fill my universe with the languid pleasure of you and let all these many people be locked out. Outside the multiverse of posibillity you conjure with one simple silken caress of your sacred mouth.
Kiss me now Mine Own and let the electricity of your embrace ground the ethereal wanderings of this gypsy heart.
An age  spent enjoying the journey prepared me for this self combustion; for the art of your kiss, this tactile symphony.
This deliberate oral seduction.
Kiss me now Lover mine, Kiss me and focus me,
inside this moment; with you; with me and with us.

You come to me aching to be made.
Looking to me with empty eyes
Sinking grasping fingers into my limbs
like I am the magic
Like my words can make you
make you
more

You come to me in your multitudes
In your trinity
Showing me your cracked soul
like I am the light to make it whole
Like my peace can give you more
give you more
peace
You come to me bleeding from open wounds
The arrows still in your back
Hallmarks of battles you did not expect
like I can heal you with a touch.
Like this warrior can lend you power
like this warrior can lend
you more
power
You come to me like I am beholden
looking to me to give you value
Like my coffers can fill your horde
You come to me
like a sinner to salvation
yet I
am damnation
you come to me like a well of life
yet i
drink you deep
and watch you die . . .

Enchantatre

And I invoke his name

By blood

By blade

With liquid anointments

In velvet night

I invoke his name

I bid him to me

Would that I could bind him to me

But still on the midnight clear

I invoke his name

By mine own skill

By Mine own skin

With fettered breath

In aching need

With primal witcheries

Would that my power stayed the night

But still compelled by his power

By mine own mind

By mine own soul

I invoke his name

Invocation rising in tempo

Higher and higher still

 Through the smoked air

And suddenly in a rush of potential

He fills the vaults of my heaven

Reality bends

In His presence

A thousand fantastical worlds

Originator

First Man

Beyond the edges of reason

This invocation has carried me

And all that may be is He

He lays open my soul

Healing the wounds

Taking only what is His

The All Self

Naming His price

In roils of blood and pain

Until I am back

Shattered in reality

And there where I once stood

A shrine

That’s how I know

It was no fever dream

And still the aching compulsion

Destroyed

Yet still

By blood

By blade

Upon the midnight clear

I invoke He

Explorer

What do you say to an adventure

A headlong departure to the destroyed wastelands of my heart.

Depart now from the cave inside my mind where you languish with my imagination

Leave behind these clean clear fevered longings

Onward to the holocaustic place

I’ll leave you a key

And I’ll let you see

It all

Everything

Every scar

Every empty eyed sacrifice

What do you say to an adventure

Will you walk the places no one goes anymore

Will you run through the mazes and shout your victories to my old tired demons?

Go now from the lush valleys where you think I end

Go to the deep dark where me begins

Aching beauty of these forbidden places

Myriad sylvan spaces

Complex and labyrinthine

I’ll leave you a key

And I’ll let you see

Run with the beasts free

Just be

What do you say to an adventure?

Unveil hidden cults

You already the God of their Idolatry

The shadow of your voice rings

Echoes like high sacred hymns

And when you flee

At least I can say

I left you a key

I let you see

And with good reason

You went away

What do you say to an adventure?
